"When you have a parent die from aids, you feel like this can't happen to me. I got married thinking its going to be the perfect life. We found out we were having a baby and at one of our first doctor appointments I found out that I was hiv positive. I thought that my life was over I was crushed. I started taking my meds and my child was born negative. We had another baby and this child was also negative. With being responsible research and medication my family is negative. Taking care of your self is the most important part. Getting tested is the first step in doing that. It is not a death sentence, but you have to do what you need to do."
